Low Odor & Low Emission Reactive PU Equilibrium Catalyst QHADL306 Product Data Sheet

1. Description

QHADL306 is a professional-grade reactive tertiary amine equilibrium catalyst custom-developed for polyurethane (PU) foaming and formulation systems, serving as a high-performance eco-friendly substitute for conventional C225 equilibrium catalyst. As a reactive-type catalyst, it can chemically bond covalently into the PU polymer backbone during the foaming and crosslinking curing process, which thoroughly eradicates volatile organic compound (VOC) residue and irritating amine odor, effectively solving the typical drawbacks of traditional C225 catalyst including high volatility and strong unpleasant smell.

This product offers equivalent balanced catalytic performance to standard C225 catalyst, with more optimized coordination of blowing and gelling reactions, more stable foaming process, and more uniform foam cell structure. It stands out with upgraded overall performance, ultra-low volatility, zero residual odor, and minimal VOC emissions, fully complying with strict global environmental standards and indoor application requirements for PU products. Featuring excellent compatibility with mainstream polyether polyols, TDI/MDI isocyanates and other PU additives, it has wide processing tolerance and will not impair the physical properties of finished PU products, making it the ideal upgraded alternative to C225 for high-standard, low-emission PU manufacturing.

3. Application

QHAL306 is designed for PU systems that require balanced blowing and gelling catalysis, low odor and zero volatile residue, and can fully replace traditional C225 catalyst in various high-standard production scenarios, covering the following core application fields:

  • Flexible Polyurethane Foam: High-resilience (HR) molded foam, conventional flexible slabstock foam for furniture, bedding (mattresses, pillows), cushions and daily use PU foam products.
  • Automotive Interior PU Foam: Low-fogging, low-emission automotive seats, headrests, armrests, interior trim parts and other automotive interior components complying with VDA 278 and related environmental standards.
  • Low-Emission & Odorless PU Products: Household PU goods, infant-related PU supplies, and indoor PU decorative materials with strict limits on residual odor and VOC emissions.
  • General PU Formulations: TDI/MDI based flexible foam systems, cold-cure molded foam, and balanced reaction PU systems that need to replace C225 catalyst.
  • Eco-Friendly PU Manufacturing: Green building PU materials, low-carbon packaging foam, and other high-environmental-standard PU applications requiring stable reaction balance and low emission.

4. Storage & Handling

  • Store the product in a sealed, dry, cool and well-ventilated warehouse, with a recommended storage temperature range of 5–35°C, avoid extreme high or low temperatures and large temperature fluctuations.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight, open flames, high-temperature heat sources, strong acids, strong alkalis and oxidizing chemicals to prevent performance degradation, chemical side reactions and safety risks.
  • Ensure the original packaging is tightly sealed before and after each use to prevent moisture absorption, contamination and reactive component volatilization loss, which helps maintain stable catalytic activity and low-emission performance.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles) during daily handling and operation; avoid direct contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice if needed.
  • Shelf Life: 12 months from the production date under proper sealed and specified storage conditions; expired products can be put into use after passing performance retesting.
  • Standard Packaging Specifications: 25 kg plastic drum, 200 kg steel drum, IBC bulk tote; customized packaging can be provided according to customer actual demand.
