Catalyst PC‑77 Product Data Sheet
Description
Catalyst PC‑77 (chemical name: N,N,N’,N’’,N’’‑pentamethyldipropylenetriamine, CAS 3855‑32‑1) is a highly selective tertiary amine blowing catalyst for polyurethane (PU) systems. It strongly promotes the isocyanate–water (urea/foaming) reaction with balanced gel support, delivering consistent foam rise, uniform cell structure, and improved flowability. It features low odor, low volatility, and good hydrolytic stability, making it suitable for high‑performance, low‑emission formulations. It is miscible with water and most polyols, and compatible with standard PU catalysts, crosslinkers, and surfactants.

Application
- Flexible PU Foams: Slabstock and molded foams for furniture, bedding, automotive interiors; enhances foaming efficiency, cell uniformity, and surface quality.
- Rigid PU Foams: Insulation panels, refrigeration, spray foams, and pipe insulation; supports stable rise and tight cell structure.
- HR (High Resilience) Foams: Balances blowing and gelation for improved comfort, durability, and processing window.
- Packaging Foams: Provides controlled reactivity and good flow for protective packaging.
- Formulation Tuning: Used with gel catalysts (e.g., PC‑46, PC‑7) to adjust cream time, rise time, and cure profile.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated area at 10–30 °C (50–86 °F), away from direct sunlight, heat sources, strong acids, and strong oxidizers.
- Keep containers tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption, CO₂ pickup, and contamination.
- Under proper conditions, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture in unopened packaging.
- Wear nitrile gloves and safety goggles during handling. Refer to the MSDS for safety, transportation, and emergency procedures.
