1. Description

QHAD-A37 is a premium liquid tertiary amine catalyst, engineered to deliver a balanced catalytic profile for polyurethane (PU) foam systems. Unlike conventional amine catalysts, it optimizes both the gelation reaction (isocyanate-polyol crosslinking) and blowing reaction (isocyanate-water interaction) to ensure consistent foam rise, uniform cell structure, and improved processing stability.

This catalyst featureslow volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and minimal odor, making it compliant with strict environmental and indoor air quality regulations. It exhibits excellent compatibility with standard polyether/polyester polyols, isocyanates, and auxiliary additives, with outstanding dispersibility and metering accuracy for automated production lines. QHAD-A37 eliminates common processing flaws like foam collapse, shrinkage, and uneven curing, while enhancing the mechanical properties and surface finish of final PU products.

3. Application

QHAD-A37 is a versatile catalyst designed for a wide range of polyurethane foam and molding applications, with core uses focused on high-quality flexible and molded foam production:

  • Flexible Polyurethane Foams: Ideal for slabstock foams used in mattresses, furniture cushions, bedding, and acoustic insulation. It ensures soft texture, uniform cell distribution, and reduced foam settling during curing.
  • Molded Flexible PU Foams: Widely applied in automotive interior parts (seats, headrests, armrests, door panels), packaging foams, and custom molded cushioning. Improves demolding efficiency and dimensional stability.
  • High-Resilience (HR) Foams: Enhances resilience and load-bearing performance of HR foams for bedding and automotive seating, while maintaining low odor and low VOC emissions.
  • Semi-Rigid PU Foams: Suitable for automotive interior trim, appliance insulation, and protective packaging, delivering balanced curing and excellent surface finish.
  • This catalyst can be used as a standalone catalytic component or blended with other amine/organotin catalysts to fine-tune reaction kinetics and meet specific foam performance requirements.


4. Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions

  • Store in sealed original containers in a dry, well-ventilated, and temperature-controlled warehouse, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames.
  • Recommended storage temperature: 5 – 30°C. Avoid extreme cold or freezing, as low temperatures may cause slight viscosity increase or component separation (restore homogeneity by gentle heating and mixing before use).
  • Keep isolated from strong acids, oxidizing agents, and moisture to prevent product degradation, catalytic activity loss, and contamination.
  • Storage areas must be equipped with spill containment facilities and comply with local chemical safety and environmental regulations.

Shelf Life & Handling Precautions

  • Unopened shelf life: 12 months under recommended storage conditions. Conduct performance testing prior to use if the product is expired.
  • Reseal containers immediately after each use to minimize contact with air and moisture, which can compromise product quality.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, protective clothing) during handling. Avoid direct skin, eye, and respiratory contact.
  • In case of accidental contact: Rinse skin/eyes thoroughly with plenty of clean water for 15+ minutes; seek medical attention if irritation persists.
