3. Application

A1 ( Catalyst A-1) is primarily applied in the production of polyurethane foam, with a focus on high-performance insulation foam for various industrial and commercial scenarios. Its key applications include but are not limited to:

  • Insulation Boards & Blocks Production: It is widely used in continuous lamination processes for manufacturing insulation boards and blocks, enhancing foam flow and expansion to ensure uniform structure and excellent thermal insulation performance.
  • Polyurethane Foam Formulation: As a highly selective blowing catalyst, it is suitable for formulating polyurethane foams that require precise control of the water/MDI reaction, improving the overall mechanical properties and processing efficiency of the foam.
  • Industrial Insulation Materials: Applied in the production of insulation materials for construction, refrigeration, and other fields, where its stable catalytic performance ensures the foam’s durability and insulation effect.
  • Complementary Use with Other Additives: It can be used in combination with other NIAX additives (such as silicone stabilizers and other catalysts) to optimize foam performance, meeting the diverse needs of different production processes and product requirements.

4. Storage

To ensure the stability and performance of A1 (NIAX Catalyst A-1), proper storage conditions must be strictly followed. The key storage requirements are as follows:

  • Storage Environment: Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated warehouse with a good drainage system to avoid rainwater intrusion. The recommended storage temperature should not exceed 25 °C; avoid storage in freezing conditions (below -80 °C) or high-temperature environments above 30 °C.
  • Container Handling: Keep the original packaging containers tightly closed when not in use to prevent moisture absorption and contamination. For partially used containers, apply a dry gas atmosphere (e.g., nitrogen) to the headspace and ensure a good seal to maintain dryness during storage.
  • Moisture & Ignition Source Avoidance: Keep the product away from sources of moisture and water, as exposure may affect its catalytic performance. Also, keep it away from ignition sources (such as heat, sparks, and open flames) due to its flammable nature (flash point 74 °C).
  • Shelf Life: When stored in unopened original containers under the recommended conditions, the shelf life of A1 is typically 12-18 months from the date of manufacture. Check the "use before" date on the product packaging for specific validity information.
  • Equipment & Handling: Use clean, dry equipment for handling and transferring the product. Recommended materials for transfer equipment (piping, valves, pumps) include stainless steel, glass, or Teflon to avoid contamination.
  • Note: For detailed safety information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of A1. For further inquiries, contact the relevant customer service for assistance.
