Low Odor & Low Emission Polyurethane Catalyst QHAL301 Product Data Sheet

1. Description

QHAL301 is a specially formulated low-odor, low-VOC tertiary amine composite catalyst designed exclusively for polyurethane (PU) foam and related PU formulation systems. Unlike conventional amine catalysts, this product is engineered to minimize volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and residual odor, making it fully compliant with strict indoor air quality standards and green environmental protection requirements for end products.

It delivers a well-balanced catalytic performance for both blowing and gelling reactions in PU production, ensuring stable reaction kinetics, uniform foam cell structure, and consistent product quality without compromising processing efficiency. Its non-fogging, low-emission profile eliminates unpleasant residual odors in finished PU goods, making it an ideal eco-friendly alternative to traditional high-odor amine catalysts. It also features excellent compatibility with most polyether polyols, isocyanates, and other PU additives, with wide processing tolerance suitable for diverse production lines.

3. Application

QHAL301 is widely applied in various polyurethane systems that require strict odor control and low emission standards, covering the following core fields:

  • Flexible Polyurethane Foam: High-resilience (HR) molded foam for automotive interiors (seating, headrests, armrests, interior trim), furniture foam, bedding foam (mattresses, pillows), and soft slabstock foam for daily necessities.
  • Low-Emission & Low-Fogging PU Products: Indoor automotive interior components, household PU goods, and packaging foam that meet REACH, TSCA and other environmental certification standards.
  • General PU Formulations: TDI/MDI based flexible foam systems, cold-cure molded foam, and low-density soft foam that demands odor-free finished products.
  • Eco-Friendly PU Applications: Green building materials, infant-related PU products, and other scenarios with strict limits on volatile emissions and residual odor.

4. Storage

  • Store the product in a sealed, dry, cool and well-ventilated warehouse, with a recommended storage temperature range of 5–35°C.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight, high-temperature heat sources, open flames, strong acids, strong alkalis and oxidizing agents to avoid performance degradation and safety risks.
  • Ensure the original packaging is tightly closed before and after use to prevent moisture absorption, hydrolysis, contamination and volatile loss, which may affect product activity and emission performance.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with skin and eyes; handle with proper personal protective equipment during operation.
  • Shelf Life: 12 months from the production date under the above specified proper storage conditions.
  • Common Packaging Specifications: 25 kg plastic drum, 200 kg steel drum, IBC tote (customizable packaging available upon request).
