1. Description

QHS-3043 is a premium silicone-based surfactant and foam stabilizer exclusively developed by Shijiazhuang Qihong New Material Technology Co.,Ltd, specifically engineered for polyurethane (PU) foam manufacturing processes. As a specialty polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane copolymer, it delivers exceptional cell-stabilizing capabilities, regulates bubble nucleation and growth, and ensures uniform cell structure throughout the foam forming stage.

This product exhibits outstanding compatibility with all mainstream PU raw materials, including polyether polyols, polyester polyols, isocyanates, and amine catalysts. It features low volatility, mild odor, and excellent hydrolytic stability, effectively eliminating common processing flaws such as foam collapse, shrinkage, uneven density, and surface pinholes. With balanced fluidity and dispersibility, QHS-3043 enables precise dosing and seamless integration into automated production lines, while enhancing the mechanical properties and surface finish of final PU products.

3. Application

QHS-3043 is a versatile foam stabilizer designed for a wide range of high-quality polyurethane foam applications, with core usage focusing on precision molding and microcellular foam systems:

  • Microcellular PU Foams: Primarily used for injection-molded shoe soles (casual shoes, sports shoes, safety shoes), providing fine and uniform cell structure, excellent cushioning performance, and enhanced wear resistance.
  • Flexible Molded PU Foams: Applied in automotive interior components (seats, headrests, armrests), furniture cushions, and acoustic foams, improving foam resilience and surface smoothness.
  • Integral Skin Foams: Suitable for automotive steering wheels, handgrips, and decorative PU parts, promoting the formation of dense, smooth skin layers and stable core foam structure.
  • Specialty PU Formulations: Compatible with semi-rigid foams and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) foamed products, optimizing processing stability and end-product quality.
  • It can be used as a standalone additive or blended with other amine catalysts, organotin catalysts, and blowing agents to adjust foam properties and meet specific formulation requirements.


4. Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions

  • Store in sealed original packaging in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, open flames, strong acids, and strong oxidizing agents.
  • Recommended storage temperature: 5 – 30°C. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme low temperatures, which may cause viscosity increase or slight layering; the product can be restored to homogeneity by gentle heating and stirring without performance loss.
  • Keep containers tightly closed at all times to prevent moisture absorption, dust contamination, and product deterioration.
  • The storage area shall be equipped with spill-proof facilities and comply with local chemical safety and environmental management regulations.

Shelf Life & Handling Tips

  • Unopened shelf life: 12 months under the recommended storage conditions. Conduct compatibility and performance tests before use if the product is expired.
  • Reseal the container immediately after each use to minimize contact between the product and air/moisture.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles) during handling to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
  • In case of accidental contact, rinse the affected area with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes; seek medical attention promptly if irritation occurs.
